This week, BBC 4's In Our Team show has the first reasonably intelligent and sympathetic hour I have ever heard on the air about anarchism (i.e. libertarian socialism) as a political philosophy; discussing Proudhon, Kropotkin, Bakunin, the anarcho-syndicalist movement in Civil-War-era Spain, and even ancient roots of anarchism in Taoism, Buddhism, and Christianity. [Note: I can't judge the accuracy of the latter claim, not knowing enough about any of these three philosophies.] I can't imagine anything like this ever being broadcast on American mainstream media, even on NPR.
